More than 800 islanders living in residential homes or attending Age Concern groups will once again receive gifted hampers this Liberation Day, sponsored by Rok. 

Over 100 military vehicles, vintage cars and motorbikes will form this year’s Liberation Day Cavalcade. 

Following the success of Liberation Day 2025, celebrating the 80th anniversary, planning is now underway for Liberation Day 2026.

Guernsey is participating alongside hundreds of buildings across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands by lighting up in red, white and blue to commemorate Victory in Europe, or VE Day, and the end of World War II. 

Flying 12,000 miles US based Commemorative Air Force has brought one of their period WW2 military aircraft back to Europe for 80th Anniversary Celebrations, and this includes their project ‘Bringing the Boys Home

Guernsey’s ambulance service is providing preventative care advice for people heading into St Peter Port for the Liberation Day celebrations on 9^th May.

The full timetable has been published for the free Liberation Day scheduled bus service, which will enable islanders to plan their journeys for the day of celebrations on 9 May, as the island celebrates the 80th anniversary of Liberation.  

Guernsey’s 80th Liberation Day will host a variety of music performances throughout the day on North Beach, Albert Pier and Castle Cornet.
